Experimental application of 𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗚𝗨𝗔𝗥𝗗™ on concrete curb T2 - Reunion Island

The SMPRR in charge of the Runion Island roads has entrusted SOLOSAR with the implementation of an experimental application in 2 strategic tunnels of Reunion Island near Cilaos. The tunnels are very busy because they allow the inhabitants and tourists to cross the peaks by the only road leading to Cilaos. The road is winding and narrow, but the tunnels are even narrower: 3 m high and only one vehicle at a time can pass through.

The tunnels cannot be equipped with guardrails because of the narrowness of the road, and it is not possible to apply any paint on the rock face because of the permanent humidity.

Also, the SMPRR asked us to apply on T2 concrete curb to allow road users to better identify the tunnel contours and therefore anticipate, as there is no other light source at night or in rain or fog.

ULTRAGUARD™ was designed to be applied vertically. SOLOSAR met this challenge by applying the paint and beads to the curbs using a template of its own design and a pressurised bead gun from Kamber in Switzerland.
The result is very satisfying and we look forward to returning to see how the application ages over time.
