At SOLOSAR we work with autoclaved Scots pine for our SOLOWOOD  timberclad guardrails as well as for our SOLONATURE range of street furniture. Its advantages are numerous:

- Versatility

Pinus sylvestri is very easy to work with. It can be cut, carved or modulated in any way, while retaining great strength because of its slow and uniform growth.

- Protective coatings

Nothing looks less like a wood species... than another wood species. We have selected Pinus sylvestri, a species renowned for its natural durability (class 3 according to EN335) reinforced by the autoclave treatment and its good mechanical properties. For SOLONATURE® products, we only impregnate our wood in protection class 4 according to EN 335. Only the "vacuum and pressure" autoclave impregnation is effective. All our solutions are guaranteed for 10 years against rotting and attack by wood-eating insects.

Scots pine has a positive environmental record when the forest from which it comes is managed sustainably. This is the case with the Western European forests we have chosen as our source of supply. Their soils are perfectly adapted to a straight and healthy growth and allow an economical management of the resource.
