Description
Protector BOS is a steel vehicle restraint system designed to protect isolated objects along roadsides, such as trees or poles, by preventing vehicles diverted from the carriageway from colliding with them.
System composition:
The Protector BOS is made up of two honeycomb modules fixed to C-100 (S355JR) steel posts 1,650 mm or 1,700 mm long. It also includes 139.7 mm and 273 mm diameter deformation tubes, as well as posts and fixing materials. All components are galvanised in accordance with EN ISO 1461 and EN 10346 to provide corrosion protection.
Features:
The honeycomb design of Protector BOS effectively absorbs impact energy by distributing loads throughout the structure, reducing the severity of collisions. The system is pre-assembled in two modules, making installation quick and easy. What's more, it's designed to be maintenance-free under normal road conditions, and post-impact repairs are time-saving.
Applications:
The Protector BOS is ideal for protecting isolated obstacles located just 60 cm from the edge of the carriageway, such as trees, posts or tree lines. It is also suitable for curve areas requiring additional protection for motorcyclists, such as the Eco-Safe BOS MPS system.
Key benefits:
- Emphasis on increased safety:
- Reduced risks for drivers and road infrastructure, a strong argument for local authorities and infrastructure managers.
- Long-term savings:
- Thanks to its durability and low maintenance requirements, the system reduces overall operating and replacement costs.
- Environmentally-friendly solution:
- Recyclable materials and a design optimised to limit environmental impact, meeting the requirements of ‘green’ tenders.
- Compliance with current regulations:
- A product that complies with current standards, facilitating its adoption by public authorities and private companies.
- Competitive differentiation:
- A unique solution for protecting isolated obstacles, offering an advantage over traditional solutions such as standard guardrails.
- Customisable :
- Adaptability of the system to specific project requirements (dimensions, configurations), a key commercial advantage for bespoke projects.
In short, the Protector BOS offers an effective and reliable solution for improving road safety by protecting isolated obstacles from vehicle collisions.

Technical advantages of the Protector BOS :
- High energy absorption capacity:
- The honeycomb design effectively distributes impact forces, reducing the severity of collisions and increasing user safety.
- Certified to European standard EN 1317:
- Complies with road safety requirements, with levels of containment (N2) and working width (W5), guaranteeing proven performance.
- Easy to install :
- System pre-assembled in modules, allowing quick and simple installation, limiting labour costs and minimising traffic interruptions.
- Low maintenance:
- Galvanised materials (to EN ISO 1461 and EN 10346) offering increased resistance to corrosion and requiring little maintenance after installation.
- Compatibility with different environments:
- Suitable for urban and rural areas, motorways, secondary roads or industrial sites, offering a versatile solution.
- Reduced dynamic deflection:
- Limited deflection (0.7 m) for better protection of obstacles close to the road.
- Targeted protection for isolated obstacles:
- Ideal for securing features such as trees, poles and technical bollards, minimising the risk of structural damage after impact.
